Goblin & the Girl Blog Tour

Fearsome Beastie SHORTLISTED for the People’s Book Prize

We are extremely pleased to announce that The Fearsome Beastie by Giles Paley-Phillips has been shortlisted for the People’s Book Prize. “The People’s Book Prize is a national competition aimed at discovering new and unknown works:  a truly democratic book prize decided exclusively by the public.” A big well done to Giles.  We will all have our fingers crossed until the winner is announced on 30th May 2012!

The World Book Day Beastie Book Marathon!

Wow what a day! The Beastie book marathon team started at 9am at Seaford Primary School where Giles read to the entire assembly of 400 children, then it was a mad dash to Annecy School, also in Seaford to read to the whole school again, then we zoomed into Chyngton School, to read to read to an entire school of pupils dressed in their favourite book characters. Maverick Meets Argentinian Illustrators!

Steve Bicknell, MD of Maverick Publishing has just met eleven illustrators in Argentina. They are from the same illustration school as Marianna Ruiz Johnson, illustrator of Sparkle’s Song. Steve was blown away by their artwork and through it was awesome experience meeting them all. The Beastie Book Marathon World Book Day 2012

Maverick author, Giles Paley-Phillips will be attempting to read his new book The Fearsome Beastie to over 1,000 Sussex school children on 1st March, World Book Day.
