The London Book Fair is an important event for Maverick.  Two years ago (in 2009), Maverick launched it’s very first books at the LBF. Libraries are very much in danger at the moment, so we were really pleased to hear that Maverick author, Scott McIntyre, author of Super Magic Lightning Boy, will be ‘cutting the ribbon’ at the re-opening ceremony for Methil Library in Fife on 4th April and then opening a school library at Kirkhill school on the 28th April. We hope that everyone has a fantastic day!

As you all know it was recently World Book Day and World Book Night, where thousands of books were given away.  Here at Maverick we decided to do something on a smaller scale.  We donated a selection of picture books to Chestnut Tree House, a local children’s hospice. Loretta holds a Bookreading at ’Dad’s Conference’ in Deptford  Loretta attended the Dad’s Fun Day at Ashmead Primary School, where there was everything from a climbing wall to craft activities! Loretta had lots of children come to listen to her read Sonny the Sea Tractor and do a bit of colouring in.

Maverick’s Plan for World Book Day (so far…) Daisy Dawes & Get Ahead Fred are having an activities day at Warrington Waterstone’s with lots of schools attending.

Scott is taking Waterstone’s by storm with a host of different book readings.
