Loretta’s Book Reading

Permission given for use of this picture Hi everyone, Loretta’s reading went really well.  The kids listened excitedly as she read the story and after wards they enjoyed colouring in the Sonny the Sea Tractor colouring in sheets.  There were so many bright Sonny’s to choose from.  I may have to paint myself another bright colour. Well done to the two classes at Drayton Park School! We’re getting even more… Read More »Loretta’s Book Reading

Sanchez the worm

Hello fellow superheroes! Isn’t summer great? You can spend loads of time in the garden keeping all the baddies away!   Me and Dixie were watching Dad put new grass down. He was busy digging and piling old mud into a box ready for the tip when suddenly – OH NO! In the box we noticed Sanchez the worm trapped! Sanchez is a superhero friend of ours who helps in the… Read More »Sanchez the worm

Relaunch of Children’s Dep, Bath Waterstone’s

On Saturday 10th July Daisy was invited to take part in the relaunch of the children’s department at Waterstone’s. This new refit is being tested at various stores around the country and we were lucky enough to be able to take part. Amid the face painting, balloons and of course books, Daisy signed copies of Get Ahead Fred and did some hat designing with the children. This was a fantastic… Read More »Relaunch of Children’s Dep, Bath Waterstone’s

Tim Tams

Greetings all. It’s Detective Jack reporting from the baking hot Australian outback. My trusty side-kick Deputy Poco Loco has been complaining that we are cycling at a poodle’s pace. There are just so many fascinating animals to meet – wallabies, koalas and kangaroos. Just the other day a most friendly kangaroo stopped to chat and offered us the tastiest cookies of all – Tim Tams.  I just love that name,… Read More »Tim Tams

Cosmic Hat!

I was looking through my telescope last night and spotted a rather interesting group of stars.  I got straight on the phone to my friends at Nasa who, via the Hubble telescope, confirmed that it was indeed called the Sombrero Galaxy.  Any galaxy named after a hat is well worth a visit, so  I have packed my suitcase with a selection of cosmic hats and I’m planning to hitchhike there… Read More »Cosmic Hat!

St Mary’s Nursery School, Chester

A few weeks ago we received a letter from St Mary’s Nursery school asking if Daisy and Fred could come to their school for a book reading, as they were learning about different hats. They designed some fantastic hats for Fred, which you can see here. So on 5th July, Daisy and Fred went to St Mary’s where all children were wearing a range of different hats for the occassion.… Read More »St Mary’s Nursery School, Chester

Jake, Dixie and the Rain Cloud

Hello fellow super heroes! We had another super adventure this week! It was my annoying wee sister Amy’s birthday this week and we had a big party in the garden. We all looked up and there it… Read More »Jake, Dixie and the Rain Cloud

Get Ahead Fred: BookBag Review

“Get Ahead Fred has a lot of nice touches. I particularly enjoyed seeing through Fred’s hat collection – it felt like a headwear version of Monty Python’s Cheese Shop sketch… …In a change from most picture books, the illustrations are models which have been photographed. These models are packed with character, have a familiar style that will immediately click with children, and set the mood wonderfully. The style is mostly… Read More »Get Ahead Fred: BookBag Review
