Celebration for an Out-Of-This-World Picture Book, The Spacesuit, by Alison Donald.

Talented author, Alison Donald, was presented with the Maverick Book of the Year 2019 award for her fabulous narrative non-fiction picture book, The Spacesuit. Surrounded by the Maverick team, Alison celebrated her win in Horsham with a special lunch in town, consisting of great food and even greater wine! The presentation of the winner’s trophy had previously been planned for a drinks evening at the Maverick stand at the London Book Fair, which understandably had to be cancelled.

Kind words were spoken about the hard work and contribution of all in the success of the picture book, with Managing Director Steve Bicknell noting that ‘The Spacesuit was a clear winner in the voting last year and is proving to be a very significant title for our publishing company. Alison has a real knack of writing narrative non-fiction and we are pleased to be publishing her new non-fiction title, A Super Sticky Mistake, later this year.’ Alison’s forthcoming title about the life of Super Glue inventor, Harry Coover, will be available in the UK this autumn, with distribution throughout North America by Lerner Publishing.

Check out what The Original Super Glue Corporation has to say about Alison’s next narrative non-fiction:

”A Super Sticky Mistake is a delightful book on Dr. Coover’s discovery of super glue and how it changed the world. Not only does it stick to the facts, but it does so in a way that is accessible to kids and parents alike. Dr Coover teaches us an important lessons, that even mistakes can change the world for the better.”

A Super Sticky Mistake is coming this autumn!

Congratulations again, Alison!
