“You can also relate to this book as an adult, especially the awful excuses that the adults make for why Mossy can’t have a pet (I’ve come up with a few of these myself recently as Lucas is desperate for a pet). Mossy’s sister is also a great character as she is exactly what a horrible big sister is like, with sarcastic comments and help if it benefits her.”
