Three of Maverick’s picture books have been selected to be a part of the Summer Reading Challenge 2015 Record Breakers collection!
The three books are:
A Scarf and a Half by Amanda Brandon
The Black and White Club by Alice Hemming
I Wish I’d Been Born a Unicorn by Rachel Lyon
Maverick are thrilled to have three books selected for the programme and the authors and illustrators involved are over the moon to have been chosen.
The Summer Reading Challenge is a fantastic initative run by The Reading Agency. It gets three quarters of a million children into libraries over the summer months in order to keep up their confidence and eagerness when it comes to reading.
This year the Agency has chosen 71 different titles from over 20 different publishers to include in the Record Breakers collection. The books chosen cover a range of genres from non-fiction, fantasy, poetry, graphic novels, contemporary fiction and of course, picture books so there is something available for every young reader.
