Hedgehugs is in fashion this Spring!

Hedgehugs_Reprint COVER LR JPEGMaverick Books and Hedgehugs are supporting the Farlington Fashion Week! The fashion show will take place at Farlington School on Thursday 18th March and all proceeds will go towards the outstanding charity, Beat which raises awareness for eating disorders.

Maverick Books has donated a signed copy of Hedgehugs to the event’s raffle draw. We felt that Hedgehugs was the perfect prize as the book did start with fashion after all! Lucy Tapper, author and illustrator, used the prints and patterns from her daughters’ baby clothes to create the adorable illustrations for Hedgehugs.

Ellie Burnell-Price, the event’s organiser, is a passionate and pro-active student at Farlington School. She is organising this event for her Extended Project Qualification. She is passionate about promoting positive body image through the medium of fashion and hopes this event will show her fellow students and people in the community the fascinating work that goes into putting on a fashion show.

Ellie said: ‘The reason I have chosen to raise money for Beat and promote positive body image is because the fashion industry is where many people look to for ideal body image. In an all girls school there are lots of body image pressures and my aim is to use fashion to reduce this and show people how they can be confident in themselves.”

We wish Ellie the best of luck for her event. Have a look at the Farlington Fashion Week Facebook page for more information, and pick up some tickets!
