The Dog Detectives are on their way to Alice Springs, otherwise known as the Red Centre. Alice Springs is home to the famous Flying Doctors. I was disappointed to learn that the doctors fly in aeroplanes, not like Superman. I guess all that medical equipment is too heavy for them.
Flying doctors are important because the towns in outback Australia can be so far apart that it would take far too long to drive. This means that anyone who lives, works or travels in the remote and rural areas of the Outback can have help from above. Very important considering Australia is home to 21 of the world’s 25 deadliest snakes.
