Steve, MD of Maverick popped down to Portsmouth on the 19th July to welcome the Dog Detective’s authors as they stepped off the ferry (well cycled off). Due to a host of people saying different directions, he waited expectantly at the exit where the lorries came off. Suddenly realising that they weren’t coming he popped into a taxi but then as if my magic two authors and two dogs cycled into his sight.
Then after introductions they headed off to where they were staying. They were able to store their bikes in the B & B and then sort out their equipment, including Poco Loco’s brand new DoggyRide.
The next day a TV crew for local live television met Fin & Zoa at Portsmouth Waterstone’s and filmed them as they read the Great Grizzly North and Lost in London to a class of school children.
Then after the book reading had finished, Fin & Zoa (and the two dogs Jack & Poco Loco) got ready to set off… 
The they hopped on their bikes to begin the first leg of their cycling book tour (and of course in true English style it was raining!)…
