Beyond the Torch Run

We like to be kept posted as to what our authors are up to…and this is the next exciting event that Giles Paley-Phillips (author of the Fearsome Beastie) is taking part in:

Beyond the Torch Run is a community engagement project that brings together art and the spirit of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. It has also been granted the prestigious Inspire mark by the London 2012 Inspire programme.

Beyond the Torch run will be launched Friday 20th July, exactly one week before the opening ceremony for London 2012. People of all ages and abilities are invited to help build a map through an interactive website www.beyondthetorchrun.co.uk

5 local groups will be working with 5 different artists (Kristina Veasey, Jo Brown, Simon Wood, Tony Anderson, and Giles Paley-Phillips) to give their response to what makes this area unique. A gallery exhibition of the work created will be open to public at The Crypt Gallery, Seaford 10-12th September (to coincide with the end of the Paralympic Games.
